Michael Burke, N.C.A.R.B. is the founding principal and owner of at Michael Burke Architect. He has over 30 years of experience in the design, management and construction of many educational, civic, historic, commercial and residential projects in New York, Boston and Los Angeles.
Michael earned his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin, with additional studies at New York University and the Boston School of Architecture. He is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Board and a licensed Architect in California and New York. In past years, Michael was a commissioner for the Redlands Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission and a former director with the Inland California Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The firm received an accomodation from the City of Malibu for the design of fire resistant homes and he has provided his expertise of fire resitant structures through public lectures and presentations. His own home was damaged in the Woolsey Fire and he's completed several fire-rebuilds throughout the City.

He was formerly a senior project architect at a large Los Angeles firm and managed many of the Malibu High School projects from 2014 through 2019. Prior to that, his own firm designed many commercial & educational projects for clients such as; Fender Musical Instruments, Aveda, San Bernardino Municipal Water District, Sweetwater USD and Coachella USD. He is currently the Design Manager of the new Malibu High School, and many of the middle & elementary school construction projects throughout the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District.

Orignally from NYC, Michael and family moved to Malibu in 2014. Prior to a his architectural career, he was a professional musician.
